RIO RANCHO, NM April 27, 2011 – The new organization, American Council of Animal Naturopathy LLC (ACAN), recently began offering certificate of completion courses in small animal naturopathy and equine naturopathy, with more courses coming soon including a program designed by a holistic veterinarian in animal aromatherapy.
Natural animal care is a growing field with more and more people discovering the many benefits of caring for their animals in a proactive, preventive fashion. In order to assist people who may want to be better informed in how to care for or to prepare them for becoming a practitioner in natural animal care, ACAN decided to put together distance learning certificate programs in order to meet this growing need.
“We are partnering with other women-owned and operated natural animal care schools; those who have been pioneers in their modalities. It’s an exciting time for us to be a part of this movement in teaching others how to care for animals naturally, as well as supporting and working with other animal loving, like-minded, women-owned organizations,” states ACAN Co-Founder, Dr. Kim Bloomer.
“The American Council of Animal Naturopathy (ACAN) is the only board certifying organization of its kind. It exists to raise the profile of the Animal Naturopath and Natural Animal Health Practitioner through coursework, testing, certification and continuing education of the highest standards and ethics. I believe that being a certified animal naturopath or a natural animal health care practitioner board certified in animal naturopathy by ACAN is an assurance to the public that these professionals have met rigorous, peer-developed and reviewed standards which will enhance the public’s trust in the quality of natural/holistic animal health care” commented ACAN Co-Founder, Dr. Jeannie Thomason.
In addition, the American Council of Animal Naturopathy offers a board certifying examination for animal naturopaths to uphold the standard of the principles of naturopathy as well as for other natural animal health practitioners desiring to be certified in animal naturopathy. Continuing education will be offered in the coming months for those already certified.
