Wellness is not a ‘medical fix’ but a way of living – a lifestyle sensitive and responsive to all the dimensions of the body, mind, and spirit, an approach to life we each design to achieve for our highest potential for well-being now and forever. ~Greg Anderson
Going into my “Animal Girl” mode in this post to share with you some beautiful insights that our dogs can show us in their unique ways if we’ll but pay attention and allow them to do just that. This time we are stretching into trust with two simple canine lessons. Continue reading Stretching into Trust

Over the past two years I’ve had the privilege of getting to know a remarkable young woman by the name of Bre Altherr. She and her husband Chris, own and operate the North Indy Sit Means Sit franchise. When they say sit really does mean sit – it really does mean that!
While their facility is focused on training, they also have a store, grooming, boarding and nutrition consulting available – yes they are raw feeding advocates and in fact do prey model raw with their own dogs! Bre also happens to be one of our students at the American Council of Animal Naturopathy studying to be a Carnivore Nutrition Consultant – which is how I got to know her. You know some people you just hit it off with right away? Well that’s how it was with us 🙂 Continue reading Sit Really Does Mean SIT
Let me start out with my short and goofy “Weird Animal Girl“scenario first because I think it shows how important, precious and special our relationships with our dogs are to us. Continue reading Worthy of the Truth
My crazy house lol…last Thursday as I was cleaning house and listening to music I had all sorts of “thoughts” running through my head. It was a gorgeous day and so I am thinking it just put me in a lighter mood. That always helps when cleaning house. Well out of the blue I recalled to mind the calls quail make to each other although I rarely hear them do that during the winter – must be a mating call. It has a very unique sound to it and it is actually, to me anyway, quite lovely. Continue reading Quail Call Zoomies
I know I’ve been sharing a lot of stories of my outings with Schatzie (aka Running Wolf) lately but since King is on the injured reserve list right now (but improving DAILY I might add – so exciting to watch it all happen naturally), I am enjoying sharing my adventures with this amazing dog. It is a testament to the laws of nature and the naturopathic approach to caring for our dogs. Continue reading Running Wolf
This is such a fantastic story I just had to share it with all of you! My very good friend, Bre Altherr and her husband Chris own a boarding, grooming, training franchise facility in northern Indiana – Sit Means Sit. Bre also happens to be one of our students at the American Council of Animal Naturopathy. She takes every opportunity she can to encourage her clients to learn about and implement proper nutrition for our canine carnivore companions. This short story is about Klaus the Rottweiler. His photos say it all!
It has felt like Schatzie and I were the only souls about each morning. The first foggy morning, she snuck up on a flock of quail in the brush and they certainly woke me up from my deep contemplation as they flew en masse up out of the brush lol – who needs coffee!! 😂😜 I love watching her though as she inspects things, marks territory (high up I might add to trump coyotes I am sure and other dogs), and chases rabbits.
