Over the past two years I’ve had the privilege of getting to know a remarkable young woman by the name of Bre Altherr. She and her husband Chris, own and operate the North Indy Sit Means Sit franchise. When they say sit really does mean sit – it really does mean that!
While their facility is focused on training, they also have a store, grooming, boarding and nutrition consulting available – yes they are raw feeding advocates and in fact do prey model raw with their own dogs! Bre also happens to be one of our students at the American Council of Animal Naturopathy studying to be a Carnivore Nutrition Consultant – which is how I got to know her. You know some people you just hit it off with right away? Well that’s how it was with us 🙂 Continue reading Sit Really Does Mean SIT
My crazy house lol…last Thursday as I was cleaning house and listening to music I had all sorts of “thoughts” running through my head. It was a gorgeous day and so I am thinking it just put me in a lighter mood. That always helps when cleaning house. Well out of the blue I recalled to mind the calls quail make to each other although I rarely hear them do that during the winter – must be a mating call. It has a very unique sound to it and it is actually, to me anyway, quite lovely. Continue reading Quail Call Zoomies
I know I’ve been sharing a lot of stories of my outings with Schatzie (aka Running Wolf) lately but since King is on the injured reserve list right now (but improving DAILY I might add – so exciting to watch it all happen naturally), I am enjoying sharing my adventures with this amazing dog. It is a testament to the laws of nature and the naturopathic approach to caring for our dogs. Continue reading Running Wolf
This is such a fantastic story I just had to share it with all of you! My very good friend, Bre Altherr and her husband Chris own a boarding, grooming, training franchise facility in northern Indiana – Sit Means Sit. Bre also happens to be one of our students at the American Council of Animal Naturopathy. She takes every opportunity she can to encourage her clients to learn about and implement proper nutrition for our canine carnivore companions. This short story is about Klaus the Rottweiler. His photos say it all!
It has felt like Schatzie and I were the only souls about each morning. The first foggy morning, she snuck up on a flock of quail in the brush and they certainly woke me up from my deep contemplation as they flew en masse up out of the brush lol – who needs coffee!! 😂😜 I love watching her though as she inspects things, marks territory (high up I might add to trump coyotes I am sure and other dogs), and chases rabbits. Just this past week I released a class I wrote on essential oils, I titled the Oily Symphony. In addition to creating it, we did a show on Animal Talk Naturally about it so that I could offer it to everyone at no cost!
So I wanted to make sure all avenues of sharing this offering available which is the reason for this blog post today. In the new year I know I will get back to writing my dog wellness stories – I have new ones to share. For now, however, I want to make sure you have wellness gifts that will, if you so choose, be with you always. Learning is never something we attain and we are done, but always evolving and moving forward if we are true learners.
All too often I see people getting stuck in their knowledge – by receiving a title and staying stuck there rather than evolving and moving forward. My hope is that this class will help you view essential oils in a new light, and in fact guide and support you on your wellness journey and that of your animals also (that is always a given in my eyes).
When you listen to the audio, you will also hear of my book, Animals Taught Me That, being available for free from December 18-20 on Amazon Kindle. If you are reading this later than the 20th at midnight, then I apologize for the lateness of this blog post. Don’t worry though, the book will be available again on a free promotion. I tried to extend it two more days today, but it wouldn’t allow me to do so. I’ll just re-do it to run from the 21st through the 26th for free for all of you.
My wish for all of you this holiday season and beyond, is for you and your animals to be blessed and to Be Well.
Until next time….
Have a positively tail waggin’, NATUROPATHICALLY healthy day!
This is a short post giving you a heads up about a special I am offering on my book Animals Taught Me That. We lost our publisher this year – they went out of business suddenly I am sad to say.
So in order to regroup, I decided to get the Kindle version of the book resisted with a new cover. While I did not revise the book to include my farewell to Shadrach my awesome Neapolitan Mastiff, my Dane Meshach, or my two current dogs Schatzie my Carolina Dog and King my American Bully, they will be included in my next book coming out in 2016.
